Pitters is about 6 years old. I acquired Pitters about 4 years ago from a co-worker who lost her home in the floods in Cedar Rapids. She transitioned very well with Nubbin and my dog. At first she was a little apprehensive, as it was her first time around a dog, but it did not take long for her to come around. She would bat at them with her paws when they passed by her when she would rest on the couch or when they got up in her face she would box them, which would usually get them to back away. She was not aggressive or mean in nature, just defining herself and playing. She has not had any issues with kids either, but she usually will hide under the end table or downstairs when she is done playing, she can only tolerate so much, however, she never bites. She doesn't mind being picked up and cuddled, but again, only for a short time. Like Nubbin she doesn't come sit in your lap, but she will come lay by you. She will let you know when she wants to be petted and her ears scratched, she will rub up against your legs or your hand if you are on the couch with her. At night she will sometimes come in when we first go to bed and rub up on our hands, seeking to be petted, but if she sleeps in the bed it is usually at our feet or next to me. Sometimes when being petted and scratched she will go into play mode and nip and bat her paw. It is a nip though, not a bite, she does not bite down, she is just playing and showing a little bit of her diva attitude. I sometimes call her Princess Pitters because of her attitude. Her favorite napping places are the couch, one of the beds, or on one of the padded dining room chairs. For some reason I could have my clothes and my fiance's clothes laid out on the bed and she will always lay on his, or if he leaves his jacket on the couch, etc. She is timid when it comes to new people, however, for some reason she took to my fiance within ten minutes of moving in and laid next to him on the couch while he petted her. She likes to try to catch flies that get in the house and loves ponytail bands, if I drop one or Nubbin knocks one off the bathroom counter for her, she will carry it around and pounce and play with it on the living room floor, jumping around, quite lively. She will get on the back of the couch like Nubbin and observe out the window or sleep, but that is all the higher she goes. She is a curious and will often come check out the water when I am taking a bath. Pitters is a short hair cat, she sheds more when she is stressed. She also gets cat acne under her chin, it looks like black dirt and sometimes she loses some hair but it grows back. You just have to wash it with gentle soap and a warm damp washcloth, it is an on again off again thing. She also has allergies so she her eyes water and leave tear stains under her eyes, but again, just need to wipe with a warm damp washcloth to keep them from getting too crusty or block her tear ducts. However, the vet also said she was a very healthy cat and those things are not anything to be concerned with or abnormal.
