DONATIONS NEEDED!
Chrysanthemum is about 8 weeks old now. She was found as a stray in NE Iowa several weeks ago. She had an injured leg and the vet feels she is old enough now to do surgery on it. Estimated cost is $288.50. She is a beautiful and very soft brown tabby. She loves to be held, has a LOUD purr and is very, very talkative! She loves attention from kids and tries to get along with her foster brother and sister. She is an awesome kitten and will fit into any home once recovered from surgery. Donations will be appreciated to help us pay for this. All donations are tax deductible.

12/17/12 UPDATE: Chrysanthemum is doing just fine in her foster home. She is still waiting for surgery until after Christmas because of scheduling issues at the vet office and to make sure she is really prepared mentally and physically for surgery. This includes getting rid of a UTI, making sure she can clean, feed, and use the litter box on her own. When we first found her we thought for sure she couldn't be older than 6 weeks but the vet examined her teeth and assured us she was around 9/10 weeks old. She was so small! But with food and lots of love she has at least doubled in size! Even with her injured leg she can still run pretty fast and jump onto the couch to come and snuggle with me. When she runs her injured leg drags under her body, which is fine until she trips on it and does a face plant, or worst yet, she has popped her shoulder out of joint! In the pictures you can see that she has her right paw is always bent as it can't straighten out. Even when she walks her front right paw is bent and she steps on her wrist. She is still learning to get along with her foster brother and sisters, but loves to play with toys alone.
1/10/13 UPDATE: She had surgery yesterday! According to the vet this morning Chrysanthemum is doing really well. She is already standing, moving around, and eating. They were really surprised that she had that much balance after surgery which indicates that she didn't rely on her injured arm very much before surgery. This will help with her recovery! But her recovery will still be quite slow with some pain medication after surgery, antibiotics, and relearning basic skills such as walking, grooming, litter box skills, playing, eating, and drinking out of bowls. We will find out more in the days to come.
1/16/13 UPDATE: Here are some pictures of Chrysanthemum as she posed for my camera, literally! She is still having troubles with pain and only lets me or my husband hold her. She is more shy and skidish after surgery and isn't allowing her foster brother or sister get near her to play. Her missing leg isn't keeping her from jumping on my kitchen table or couches! She saw the vet Monday for a followup after surgery and he says she is healing nicely and stitches can come out 14 days after surgery.
