Home page: www.wpr.petfinder.com Three incredibly lucky feral kittens were provided loving care by an elderly couple in NE Iowa for the first several months of their lives, and as a tribute to the wonderful love and care they showed these three kitties, they are blossoming into incredibly loving cats who are looking for a furrever family to share their lives with now. Some feral kittens are so mistreated and misunderstood by people that they have a huge fear of humans; these kittens were shown incredible kindness and love, resulting in their fear of human contact not being nearly as intense and that has made quite a difference in their socialization! Traditionally older feral kittens cannot be socialized if trapped too late, and these girls were over 5 months old before they were ever touched by human hands. WPR was asked to help rescue these kitties this fall, and finally were able to provide help to trap them the end of September. When they first arrived in their foster home, they were scared and huddled together like they were attached somewhere, never leaving the side of one of their littermates. If one moved, they all moved, and you would have sworn they were somehow connected physically, but of course they were not! Their strong love for one another and emotional support of each other is wonderful to witness! They are quite bonded to each other, and it would be a wonderful GIFT TO THEM if a loving family would allow them to stay together for the rest of their lives is at all 'humanly' possible. Although they started off not knowing what to expect when a hand was extended to them, they have come to LOVE attention and crave it now - especially being petted and snuggled up close, and they listen intently as their foster mom whispers sweet nothings in their ears! They have incredibly soft, almost rabbit-like fur, and are all simply gorgeous. They are still somewhat timid, but if the right family comes along and gives them a proper introduction into their new home and allows them the luxury of exploring and getting used to the sights, smells and sounds of their new home gradually (as all animals should be), their foster mom has no doubt all three of them will make an incredible addition to your family! Littermates (more like 'soulmates') in this beautiful group are Shoshonee, Pawnee and Lakota Sioux - all named after strong, proud and beautiful Indian tribes! Shoshonee... Patched Tabby female; Medium Hair; approx. BD 5/1/xxxx Shoshonee was the first female caught, along with her brother who was adopted by their caretakers after he was fully vetted. She is a stunning Patched Tabby with the most beautiful tangerine highlights sprinkled throughout! She is extremely sweet and loving, and absolutely can't get enough petting! Playful and now starting to venture out of her cage and lounge around the cat area and play and interact with others. She is quite the snuggler and lays her head on her foster mom's left shoulder and settles right in for some nice long cuddle time! She is fully vetted with all shots, spayed, FeLK/FIV negative, and ready to find true love with her new family! UPDATE 6/13/13... Shohonee is now about 13 months old! She is a super sweet girl and has become quite a lover, too. She absolutely loves being petted, and will push her sister Pawnee out of the way to get her head to your hand first if given the chance! She also loves to rub your legs and stretch up your leg for a good rub down, too! She has gotten more beautiful as she's gotten older, too! Her markings are just gorgeous, and just the opposite of her sisters! She has come a long way from the scared feral kitten she was when she arrived at her foster mom's home! She gets along great with any other kitty she's come in contact with, and is not an aggressive kitty at all! She loves to use a scratching post, and play with mice with a rattle in it and balls... and oh, yeah... the lazer light! She and Pawnee will battle to see who can get that darned little
